Scope and sequence
If all units are taught in sequential order, students will be exposed to a variety of skills, standards, concepts, media, and learning experiences. Scope and sequence is a term that describes the ideas and concepts that will be covered in a book or course within a curriculum. While the following scope and sequences are written to be linear with spiraling concepts, modifications may need to be made to meet district or student goals and needs. Grade level units are organized by an element, principle, or media (first column on the left).

Concepts and skills in the lesson plans spiral and build upon one another increasing complexity and depth. Priority standards selected ensure students will have opportunities to create, connect, present, and respond through process and projects. The National Core Arts Standards are the foundation of each grade level scope and sequence. A brief description of each unit and the corresponding TEKS are included. The FLEX Curriculum contents selected at each level are based on five grade-level priority National Core Arts Standards and ‘Essential Questions.’ Principles of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources course scope and sequence within the Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources Career Cluster summarizes the content to be taught, and one possible order for teaching the units of instruction. And your scope and sequence breaks everything down to a clear instructional focus for a week or two, making lesson planning easy.

#SCOPE AND SEQUENCE CODE#
DWELL is a one-year cycle for preschool, a two-year cycle for K-5 (elementary), and a three-year cycle for 6-8 (middle school). A phonics scope and sequence provides a systematic and explicit plan for teaching phonics and the core code knowledge. Each year builds on the previous in age-appropriate ways, as children are introduced to beautiful simplicity, growing complexity, and deeper mystery. The following FLEX Curriculum K-12 scope and sequences were designed for art educators to use as inspiration and as a guide to drive teaching. DWELL is intentionally crafted as an ongoing journey in God’s story.
